Cincinnati shoegaze-grunge band Sungaze is back with a new single, “Feel Better Tomorrow.” The song, set to be released on April 11, is an alternative tune detailing singer Ivory Snow’s battle with chronic illness and health anxiety.

After a harrowing accident in 2017, Snow has spent most of her twenties in various states of “unwellness,” according to a press release by the band. Snow shared in the release that her ideal way to spend the decade would have been “living out of a van with my best friends for weeks at a time, playing in new cities and building connections” instead of spending countless hours in doctor’s offices seeking answers.

The song’s creation stemmed from Snow’s long-standing contemplation about putting her struggles into her work, but it wasn’t until a walk with lead guitarist and Snow’s husband Ian Hilvert in the final week of 2024 that it started to come to fruition.

In their conversation, Snow says, “I realized the time was approaching where I would need to actually confront all of these feelings in some way, and I could feel a song would be coming.”

The release marks the second of several singles to be released throughout 2025, following last year’s release of their self-titled critically acclaimed album. Along with Hilvert and Snow, the band consists of their close friends and family Angela Colvin on backing vocals and bass, Zach Starkie and Charlie Hausfeld on rhythm guitar and Justin Van Wagenen on drums.

The single is accompanied by a music video directed by the band, as well as a t-shirt collaboration with alternative clothing brand TEN OF CLUBS. The band’s ultimate goal is to “shed light upon the growing yet under-represented chronic illness community and give voice to those whose good days can often feel overshadowed by the bad.”

The single will be available for streaming April 11 on Spotify, Apple Music and Soundcloud.
