Brandon Faris, a Northern Kentucky resident and documentary film editor has launched his newest project, “All The Bins,” a dynamic music curation project created to help listeners discover new music and artists.
Faris graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Music Production from Columbia College Chicago, and works as a documentary filmmaker and editor known for his work on Kings From Queens: The Run DMC Story, Billion Dollar Babies: The True Story of the Cabbage Patch Kids and Texas Music Revolution. Additionally, Faris was a recipient of the Kentucky Arts Council Fellowship earlier this month.
Fueled by his love for music, Faris has launched his newest project “All The Bins” as a way for listeners to authentically discover new tunes without the intervention of mainstream algorithms. Faris creates various playlists and highlights albums within the internet’s endless music vault across a range of genres for a variety of listeners.
Each week, Faris drops new playlists curated to capture the perfect feeling from ”Hold My Robe” and “Absynthe Minded” to “Beats and Bonfires” and “Concrete Petals.” Listeners are bound to find the sound that fits their next occasion or drive to work.
“We’re being spoon-fed music by big tech algorithms that decide what we hear. It’s not much different from the old-school radio gatekeepers,” Faris said in a press release. “Even though we’ve got endless choices on platforms like Spotify, the algorithm keeps us in a bubble. I felt it was my calling to break free from that bubble and take control of the narrative”
Faris’ “All The Bins” playlists can be found on Spotify, and more information about the project can be found at allthebins.com.
