Matt Berninger of Cincinnati-native band The National will not be making a stop in Cincinnati on his solo world tour.
The singer will be touring across North America, the UK and Europe in support of his sophomore solo album, Get Sunk. The tour kicks off on April 2 in Leeds, UK, and stops in the U.S. include Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and New York City.
His second solo album, Get Sunk, is “not autobiographical, but the narrator is processing how he became himself,” as stated within a Concord Records description. In that same description, Berninger reveals that his experiences growing up “on the edge of Ohio” helped inform some of the content for the upcoming album.
Get Sunk will be released to the masses on May 30. So far, Berninger has released one single track off the album, the hopeful and sadness-tinged “Bonnet of Pins.”
Alongside Berninger, brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner and a second brother duo Bryan and Scott Devendorf complete The National. With all members hailing from Cincinnati, The National eventually formed a band in 1999 in Brooklyn.
The album is available for pre-order on shop.americanmary.com. For more information about Matt Berninger’s tour, visit concord.com.
