The prestigious Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Cineposium is returning to North America for the first time in eight years, and Cincinnati will be the host city to welcome it back.

The AFCI Cineposium in 2025 will celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary. This global event will be taking place right here in the Queen City from Sept. 15-18, convening film commissioners, studio executives and entertainment industry leaders from across the world for four days of keynote speakers, expert panels, hands-on training and community engagement.

Film Cincinnati, a local nonprofit that helps bring filmmaking jobs and opportunities to Cincinnati, says it will partner with AFCI, meetNKY and Visit Cincy to curate an inspiring and impactful conference in what the nonprofit calls a landmark event for the city.

“In the wake of industry strikes and a production slowdown in 2024, we were determined to find bold, strategic ways to support our regional economy. Securing an international film conference of this caliber was a daunting goal, but we rose to the occasion and demonstrated that Cincinnati is a premier hub for creativity, innovation, and storytelling. We’re thrilled to welcome the global film community to our city this September,” Kristen Schlotman, president and CEO of Film Cincinnati, said in a press release.

Schlotman adds that they’re also proud that, for the first time in the Cineposium’s history, the event will be open to non-members, allowing the local community the chance to take part.

“It’s not just about hosting the conversation — it’s about participating in it, and empowering our region to grow with it,” she said.

Film Cincinnati says AFCI Cineposium programming announcements and ticket information will be released soon. You can learn more at filmcincinnati.com.
